Features of kimono rental
Kimono rental is a big boom in Asakusa.
At our shop, we have a large selection of one-of-a-kind antique kimonos.
In addition, we incorporate old and new Japanese culture by combining it with our original decorative accessories.
Kimonos can be coordinated just like everyday clothing, so even people who are new to kimono can find their own style.
There are also many photo spots in the museum.
A lot of wonderful memories can be made even if it`s only inside the museum, so there is no need to worry whether if it`s hot, cold, or raining outside.

We accept online reservations. Reservations can be made up to 6 hours before the reservation date.
One reservation per person.
Even when making a reservation with friends,
each person must make their own reservation.
If there is an open spot, on the day reservations are possible. Please call the store directly.
If you make a reservation on the day, kimonos may be out of stock depending on previous reservations made in the morning.
If you have a preferred kimono, we recommend making a reservation in advance.

1. Reservation
Please choose the time and plan.
Advance reservations can be made online, and on the day reservations day can be made directly at the store .
【Precautions when making a reservation】
・Cancellation: In principle, please refrain from canceling.
If cancelling is unavoidable,
please contact us by email.
If you contact us after 12:00 P.M. of the day before,
a cancellation fee of
→ 100% of the reservation fee would apply.
・Time required: 45 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes (depending on congestion)
・Web reservation: Possible up to 6 hours before the reservation date.
・ Reservation acceptance: 30 days before the date
*We do not accept reservations for kimonos and accessories.
You can choose a kimono of your choice in order of your visit.
*In principle, we do not allow pregnant women to wear Kimono.
2. Visit
The kimono rental store is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of Asakusa Taisho Romankan Cafe.
Please go through the cafe and go up to the 3rd floor on the stairs with the red carpet in the back.
Please arrive in between 5 minutes before or after your reservation time.
Example) If you make a reservation at 12:00 → Visit us from 11:55 to 12:05
If you are more than 15 minutes late without contacting us, your reservation will be cancelled.
We have everything you need for rental, so you can come empty-handed.
3. Reception
We will check your reservation plan and inform you about additional options. We also accept changes to the reservation plan, so if you wish to change it, please let us know on the day.

・Kimono selection: In order of arrival.
・Options: Can be added or changed on the day.
4. Kimono/accessory selection
You can choose a coordination of your choice from over 10,000 combinations.
If necessary, an experienced dresser/hair stylist can give you advice.
Coordinated sets are also offered, so those who are worried about coordinating themselves can be assured.
*Our shop is a kimono rental for walking around the city. Please note that it is different from formal attire that is suitable for ceremonies.
5. Dressing (15-25 minutes)
Dressing accessories such as innerwear are included in the rental fee, so you can come empty-handed. (There will be a need to purachase tabi if you do not bring your own.)
Precautions for dressing:
If you are wearing dark colored underwear, it may show through. Please come wearing light-colored ones.
6. Hair set (10分〜25分)
You can choose what you like from the hair menu. Everything is set with a curling iron, and it can be done regardless of the length of the hair. After styling, accessories such as flowers and pearls are also included.
7. Luggage check
You can leave your clothes, etc. that you do not need for sightseeing.
(Please bring items of values with you)
Since we cannot store large luggage,
Please use a coin locker in advance.
The luggage deposit bag has a capacity of about 40L.
Please note that if you have too much luggage, it may not all fit.
Please come with little things as possible.
8. Departure
In front of the Taisho Roman Museum is Denboin street, and next to it is Nakamise street, so you can enjoy sightseeing as soon as you are ready.
Please enjoy it until the return time.
9. Return
Please return the kimono by the final return time.
It is possible to return it the next day for an additional ¥2000.
・Overdue: Late charges will be incurred if you do not make it on time.
・Next day return: When using the next day return, we will take a picture of your ID card.
・When returning, you will have to change clothes in a place without room dividers.
Recommended items to carry and bring in
Recommended items to bring
You may come to the store empty-handed, but there are some items that are safer if you bring them yourself.
·Inner clothing:
Especially in winter, we recommend wearing an inner layer such as HEATTECH(thermal clothing).
If you wear inner pants/spats/leggings, changing clothes will go smoothly.
(Short-sleeves/petticoats are available for rent at our shop.)
・Small wallet:
We will lend you a cloth bag for free, but there is a possibility that long wallets will not fit inside. There is also an optional purse which is also small, so it is safe to use a wallet that is small as possible.
・A bandage:
If you are not used to zori, you may get blisters.
·Cash:
There are many cash-only shops in Asakusa, so it is safe to bring cash.
About bringing in small items
You can bring your own boots and socks.
